So, no, composers back then were not dying very young. Mozart was not typical. He was probably deliberately exposed to hardships by the freemasons (was nearly saying psychiatrists, not always very different, had slept too little this night) to whom he had confided himself. His appartment was probably less healthy than my life in the streets. Probably partly because in winter I often get to sleep in heated buildings and winter or summer I spend hours in libraries, which are usually well heated.
